This venue is super fancy and beautiful, situated in a castle on a hilltop. the staff knows their stuff and the location is just spectacular, with a cafe nearby in Cahors for dinner and a river by a stunning cliff 🏰.

We got great value for our money at Chateau De Mercues. The room was comfortable and had breathtaking views. The location was stunning and the staff treated us with exceptional care and attentiveness.
The breakfast selection could have been better with a wider variety of options.

Beautiful chateau, great pool, gorgeous view, excellent location, good for day trips.
Gourmet restaurant is overrated.

The wine selection puts the accent on Occitanie; dinner in the kitchen is a singular experience; guests can join the harvest; picturesque walks in the vineyard await!
Who needs a menu with a black diamond? Not me! Keep it simple, people!

Spectacular castle with magnificent view. Large room with private bath, good water pressure. King bed.
Tour would have been nice. Didn't get to see the towers, parapets or wine cellar from the inside. Meals quite expensive, but prorating breakfast to allow a la carte pricing was a nice touch.

The beautiful spot. The castle on the great hill overlooks the valley. Great chateu open fully to the guests. Large outdoor pool.
The restaurant is too expensive and the quality is not suberb. The bathroom needs a repair.

The staff were wonderful and the location spectacular. We were very well received and our room (indeed the whole building) enjoyed a commanding view over the valley beneath. The gardens and surroundings to the hotel are wonderful, the swimming pool is (potentially) enormous and the location is lovely. Our meal on the first night was first rate.
In between major meals, the service is a little sporadic - it isn't easy to get a coffee - and casual drinks are rather overpriced, even for a hotel of this stature (eg 12 Euros for a gin and tonic). The menu is magnificent but extremely limited - if you do not feel like dining opulently, there is no alternative to an 80 Euro dinner (this is quite a common problem in France), and the menu does not change at all from day to day. A smaller snack menu would be useful - though the hotel will provide a separate choice of food for children if you ask. The swimming pool was out of order for our visit - a major blow. This is an excellent hotel, but you need to go forewarned.
